Holy shit, Mel Gibson makes Christian Bale look really easy to work with. I like how calm his girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, is the entire time — most likely because she knew it was all being recorded, so Mel was totally fucked. Between the insane screaming, the heavy breathing, and the death threats, this has to be the most pure eight minutes of rage I’ve heard. And then at the end, it’s basically confirmed that Mel punched her in the face while she held their kid. So now he’s down to wife beaters for the only people not offended by his actions over the past few years.

Fedor Emelianenko scares me more than Mike Tyson in his prime. The guy is Russian, and he trains like Rocky in Rocky IV. So he’s like Ivan Drago and Rocky combined. Plus grappling and submission skills. The only fight he has “lost” was due to a cut from an illegal elbow, and due to it occurring in a tournament format where blood equals losing, he got fucked. So for all intents and purposes, he has never lost — this in a sport where a lucky punch or stupid maneuver on the ground can cost an entire match. Holy shit.

Keeping this information in mind, anyone can see why when the LA Times reported earlier this week that Fedor and the UFC were close to a deal, the entire MMA community was frothing in anticipation. When news came out about a rumored 6-fight/$30 million deal, fans got even more excited. But it never truly looked like it was going to happen, and by early this morning, the president of the UFC, Dana White, gave the final word. No deal.

I’m not going to analyze why Fedor and his handlers or managers or agent didn’t accept such an insane deal — I just wanted to post that YouTube tribute video because it’s one the most badass things I’ve seen on the internet. What a fucking animal. I wanted to see him destroy Brock Lesnar. Sigh.

I just did this workout myself a few minutes ago, it’s pretty good.

Pretty decent list. Of course, there are going to be videos or websites that were particularly special to a group of friends that you think you should be on there, but I think he covered all the huge ones. The one video I would add would be Tokyo Breakfast. It was right up there with the GI Joe dubbed cartoons back in middle school. And I have had random people on the internet quote it along with me, so I know it wasn’t just my group of friends.

I was deciding between this and “21st Century Schizoid Man” by King Crimson, but chose this due to being a pretty damn great live performance. And to make it known to the ignorant young kids out there — even though Patrick Bateman would kill me — that Phil Collins didn’t always suck. I grew up hearing his solo albums and the 80′s Genesis albums that he fronted. So I was pretty surprised when I first heard early Genesis — particularly this song. I think Peter Gabriel just managed to hold down Collins’ suckiness through the 70′s. This is Yes and King Crimson-type stuff here. Top-notch classic progressive rock. And these dudes are like 20 years old in this video. My life has been so inconsequential.

Now, I pretty much only listen to rock music, as is probably evident by the songs I have posted on here, but I find most indie “rock” bands to be total shit. I usually don’t even bother checking out any band classified as “indie rock” anymore. It’s almost all the same impotent, whiny, boring garbage. Spoon is a big exception to this personal rule of thumb. I actually had a hard time deciding which of their songs off of their latest album, Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, to post. I chose this song because you probably have no soul if you don’t involuntarily move some part of your body to its beat. So unless you don’t have a soul, I recommend out of rest of the album, while I continue checking out the rest of Spoon’s entire discography.

I’ve been addicted to the original Badmotorfinger version of this song for a few weeks now. Of course, I always loved it for Cornell’s inhuman screaming — which I think is much more abrasive, and therefore superior, on Badmotorfinger — but recently I’ve found myself more often than usual frustrated in my car, so the song has fulfilled the need to blast music loud enough so I cannot hear myself think.

I found this version while searching for the song on YouTube, and even if I found the original, I might have posted this anyway. Brian May is awesome, and this version is probably even harder than the original. Who am I kidding, I love Cornell’s singing on Badmotorfinger too much. Why can’t Soundgarden get back together like RATM?
