Out for the season. Probably.

It seems that Brady’s soul was only good for a couple of years of success. The deal ran out just a bit before Super Bowl XLII was over. Brady probably should’ve gotten a refund. Instead, he got a torn ACL or whatever the hell happened to his knee at the moment captured above. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly Giselle dumps his immobile ass. 

A few months ago if you told me Brett Favre would be a Jet and Tom Brady would be out for the season, I would’ve broken a bottle over your head for teasing me like that. That’s something a Jets fan only dreams of. 

But this is really happening. Next week, the Jets will face the Patriots, with a matchup of Favre vs. Cassel. Tied for first place after Week 1! And Favre didn’t throw an INT! The only thing that could make this better is Curtis Martin entering a time machine and getting back on the Jets.

Hopefully the Jets will be able to keep this up, to at least keep me entertained and somewhat happy while I watch the Mets once again choke in September.

- Bangs are the worst haircut/hairstyle this side of Princess Leia/Queen Amidala. Any girl that convinces herself that bangs look good is too lazy to fix her hair up in a decent way. A girl actually looking decent in bangs is solely due to her being attractive to begin with. Let’s have one of the most beautiful women in the world demonstrate:

- Burnout Paradise not having local multiplayer of any kind is a travesty. I really cannot describe how pissed I am at the multitude of 360 games that seemingly ignore that people actually still want to play games together IN PERSON.

- The Democratic Party is more self-destructive than the African continent. Hillary winning Ohio and Texas means that this is in all likelihood going to the convention, so by the time Obama and Hillary are through with each other, they probably won’t stand much of a chance against McCain in November. Not like a black guy and a woman had much of a chance against a bona fide war veteran anyway.

- The Aviator is Martin Scorsese’s best film this decade. Fact.

- “Still Alive” is a godawful song to be in Rock Band. Maybe if Rock Band were called Clever, but Ultimately Boring Hero, it’d fit in better. “Hell March” kicks the living shit out of it. As does it’s sequel. Who doesn’t want to yell in German? Not to mention that any gamer my age worth his salt grew up thinking “Hell March” was possibly the coolest game song ever.

- While I’m on it, Rock Band needs instrumentals. That would open up so many more possible songs. Just write up some code and embed it in the song DLC to make sure it’s out of the World Band Tour rotation when one of the players is on the mic. In that case, “Full Stop” would totally rock balls. As would a bunch of other Frank Klepacki songs. God, the Command and Conquer series is so awesome. I need a new PC.

- After an incident this past weekend, I’ve become convinced of one thing. Long Island needs a guido genocide.

I really can’t believe how well the Giants have played these playoffs. I wrote them off as first or second-round losers, easily. Eli has been playing superbly, which is something NO ONE could have predicted. Even his dad couldn’t watch the game because he figured the kid would fuck it up at some point. I think the Mannings can only have so much mojo as a family at one time…and this year it’s Eli’s turn. Brady vs. Manning again. Boston vs. New York. I would’ve preferred Good vs. Evil, but stuff doesn’t always work out perfectly. The fact that the Giants are doing this without Shockey is the most shocking (lolz) thing to me. But I’m not going to sit here and pretend to know football. I just know that the Giants are playing damn well and I think they have a good chance of playing a close game against the Patriots. Unfortunately, the Pats will almost undoubtedly find a way to win, but I just hope the Super Bowl is at least a close, exciting contest. It won’t match this NFC championship, but not many games do.

The emotional rollercoaster in the last 6-plus minutes and overtime was absolutely ludicrous. Tynes misses a go-ahead FG for the Giants at 6 minutes, then the Packers have a shitty series and end up punting and the Giants returner fumbles the ball, which leads to a ridiculous scramble that the Packers should’ve won, but didn’t. Then the Giants drive down a bit for a game-winning FG try with 6 seconds left and a botched snap leads to a shank from like 30-something yards.

Massive tears rolling down the tears of Giants fans. Then the Packers win the overtime coin toss. Brett Favre was being smiled upon. It was meant to be.

And then he threw an INT.

The Giants drove a bit again, setting up a 47-yarder. No way Tynes hits that, right? But he does. What the hell just happened? The Giants in the SUPER BOWL?!?? I still can’t believe it. Maybe the NFC really does suck.

On a side note, whenever I add an athlete’s name or sports team to the end of my IRC nick, they lose. I down to desperate measures here, so my IRC nick during the Super Bowl will be CajoleJuice_TOMBRADY.
