So That’s What Dark Matter Looks Like…

Basically, dark matter is the stuff that holds the universe together, even though we can’t even see it. I honestly don’t even understand what that picture actually is, but apparently it is the framework from which everything we can actually see – stars, galaxies, the whole universe – is built upon. The Hubble Space Telescope is pretty awesome. Astronomers used a technique called “gravitational lensing,” which is the bending of light by gravity as it travels through space, to make a model of a massive area of space. The picture created is not too surprising to scientists, as they state that it’s just what they expected, but I guess it’s cool…

This stuff is just so hard to grasp…

    Haha you know what, when I was writing my own post on dark matter, I was considering illustrating it like you did! I ultimately decided not to, but now I’m regretting that decision.
